Join the most active Troop in San DIego

A warm welcome from Troop 649 of Escondido and thanks for stopping by our website.  We hope you'll find the information here both useful and practical whether you're interested in Scouting, camping, or the history of our troop.

Troop 649 is sponsored by the Escondido Rotary Club. Our Meetings are held Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM at Emmanuel Faith Community Church, 639 E. 17th Avenue, Escondido - Room EC-21.  Troop 649 welcomes all new members and visitors. All boys age 11-18 are welcome to join (for girls age 11-18 we have a separate Troop 1649). For older youth, ages 14-20, we consider Crew 649!  Check our calendar for upcoming events and please stop by during any weekly troop meeting to learn about our troop/crew or to meet our scouts and leaders.

Scout-age boys are experiencing dramatic physical and emotional growth. Scouting offers them opportunities to channel much of that change into productive endeavors and to find the answers they are seeking for many of their questions
In the outdoors, boys have opportunities to acquire skills that make them more self-reliant. They can explore canoe and hiking trails and complete challenges they first thought were beyond their ability.
For almost 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.
